She has worked extensively as a guide and background vocalist for Whitney Houston, Patti LaBelle, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, Michael Bolton, Celine Dion, Brenda Russell, Peabo Bryson, James Brown and Todd Rundgren. During a recording session at the Plant Studios in Sausalito, CA Melisa's voice caught the attention of Mickey Thomas and 'Starship' as they were finishing up their latest release. This lead to tours with 'Starship', "Voices of Rock", which included Mike Reno (lead singer of "Loverboy"), whom she had the honor of singing the well known duet "Almost Paradise". In addition, she had the pleasure of working with Bobby Kimball (of Toto fame), Jimmy Jamison of "Survivor", and Dave Jenkins of "Pablo Cruise". In addition to her album work and touring, Melisa is also a popular vocalist among television and jingle composers. Her commercial projects include Taco Bell, Mazda, Toyota, Mattel Toys, Cost Plus, Disney, Clorox and more.
